The Oceanside marina is within walking distance from the condos on a small road over the lagoon and river north of the condo complex. There are tourist and clothing shops, a very good fish and chips eatery (don't leave your food unattended or a pelican or seagull will claim it as their own), an ice cream/candy shop and some small restaurants. There are boat rentals and fishing and whale watching tours at times. There's a shop that sells oversized seashells too.Joe's Crab Shack is here and a farther walk will lead to the Monterey Bay Restaurant and then our favorite, the Jolly Roger for breakfast and dinner which is 1.2 miles from the condos. The half order of Eggs Benedict is my favorite and Frank enjoys the breakfast burrito. Our youngest chooses from their childrens' menu. In April the pelicans roost in the tops of the tall eucalyptus trees in the parking lot. It is a sight to behold to see a pelican in a tree with their giant nest and hear all of their babies calling out.
There is RV and motorhome camping at Oceanside harbor beach and there are children toys by the camping area.
